Show Commitment Information

Every CYT production brings students, families, volunteers, and the artistic team together. Before auditioning, take time to understand the rehearsal schedule, family participation, and production expenses so you can plan ahead and enjoy being part of the show.

Student Participation

Review the Full Schedule
Start with auditions, callbacks, rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances. Review school, travel, sports, and family plans before reserving an audition.
Disclose Conflicts in Advance
Record known conflicts on the audition form, as requested in CYT’s audition guidance.
Understand the Commitment
Fellow performers and the production team rely on each person’s preparation and attendance. Consult current production materials for attendance rules and required dates.
Follow Production Communications
Keep track of rehearsal calls, materials, and updates through the channels specified for your show.

Family Participation

Parent and Adult Participation
The Production Manual, updated February 20, 2026, calls for one adult sponsor per family. The sponsor serves on pre-show and show committees. Review assignments and required dates with the production team.
Committee Opportunities
CYT lists costumes, hair and makeup, props, greenroom, concessions, publicity, sets, box office, lighting, sound, programs, and house management. Assignments and availability are coordinated for each show.
Fees and Other Expenses
Review current class and production charges, payment deadlines, and show-specific supplies or clothing requirements. Refer to current registration information and production materials for amounts.
Tuition Assistance
If cost is a concern, ask CYT about tuition assistance and the application timetable before the relevant deadline.
Before Your Family Commits
Review the full schedule together, list known conflicts, confirm the adult sponsor, discuss committee assignments, review expenses, and read the production manual. Ask the show team about any uncertainty before committing.

Review CYT’s production expectations alongside the materials supplied for your show.
Volunteer Code of Conduct
Read CYT’s expectations for staff, teachers, parents, and volunteers.
