Description

The pen may be mightier than the sword, but the sword looks much cooler in the theatre!

In this class we'll learn about different styles of stage combat; from fisticuffs and daggers to bow staffs and blades! We will also be covering basic stunts so be prepared to flip, roll, and tumble. Not only will you learn the basics of how to handle the weapons and use them, but we'll also learn the philosophy behind the combat!

Stage combat is fun, but it must always be treated seriously. Safety, focus, and clear communication are essential as we learn to perform convincing fight scenes without actually hurting our partners. Students must be willing to follow instructions, work responsibly with others, and take safety rules seriously. Together, we'll create a show-stopping, choreographed battle—and yes, there will be swords!
