Description

Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS is a 30-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

Campers will work all week long on the script, songs, and dances, and will put on a free show to friends and family on Friday. Please note that campers will be put in groups based on the roles they have in the show after auditions (first day of camp). They are responsible to bring water, a lunch, and a peanut free snack. Attendance is important as the rest of the cast will be relying on them to help put on the show. If a student can not attend the show on Friday, please reconsider signing them up as they will have no opportunity to showcase what they have learned and will not be able to help support their cast in the final product.

Hi, my name is Abby Reinhardt and I’m super excited to be in CYT Fredericksburg’s production of Les Miserables. I will be playing various ensemble parts in this show! This is my 8th show with CYT and I love it so much! I am super thankful to the artistic team and everyone in the show! I love dancing, acting, and singing and I especially love this show and the whole cast. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be in this show and I can’t wait for you to see it! Enjoy!

Counselor:

Anna Hansen

Anna Hansen began her journey at CYT in 2006 as a theatre teacher and backstage ninja. After studying theatre at Blue Ridge Community College, she stage managed productions and enjoyed roles in shows like "DuPont Mississippi" and "The Marriage of Bette and Boo." Post-college, she directed church Christmas plays and organized summer theatre camps. In 2014, she studied acting and modeling with AMTC in New York, leading to a role at Kingdom Bound Productions, where she played Susan in "Mirror Woman." After returning to Spotsylvania in 2017, she resumed teaching, stage-managing, and directing at CYT.

Counselor:

Hailey Broyles

Hi, I’m Hailey and I am so excited to be returning to CYT as a teacher. I am a VCU graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and currently I am a music teacher in Spotsylvania County. I was a “CYT Kid” when I was younger and was involved in many of the productions they put on (my first being Tom Sawyer!). Music and theatre have been a passion of mine ever since and I am so excited to be sharing that love with my students.
