Class Description

Congratulations! You’ve been cast in a play! The script is in your hands, you’ve highlighted your lines, and are ready to rehearse. Now what? What is the next step in developing a convincing character?  How can you make that character a real, relatable person? In this session, we are going to “dig deep” in understanding character development. You will be given one character to create, get to know, and eventually become in 9 weeks. It will be up to you to tell their story and discover the reasoning behind their actions.

Anna Hansen

Anna has been involved with acting and theatre since her kindergarten days and has never tired of it since! After graduating from high school, she taught for CYT Fredericksburg from 2006 to 2007 and then moved to Harrisonburg to study theatre at Blue Ridge Community College. She has created and taught several theatre camps and directed Christmas plays at her church. She has also received professional training from a great program called Actors, Models, & Talent for Christ (AMTC) and studied with great acting teachers, mentors, and casting directors in New York. In recent years, she has been involved with stage theatre and film productions with Kingdom Bound Productions based in Maryland. Her husband, Patrick, and our two kids are happy to be settled back in the Fredericksburg area.
