Class Description

Enjoy this advanced teen vocal class and learn about the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, the various styles of his music, discuss why some of his writing became hits on broadway, and others were considered a complete bomb in the broadway world!  We will explore vocal work, solo work in a variety of his styles, but primarily focusing on good technic as singers.  We will also spend a portion of a few classes on a lyric analysis discussion exploring the meaning behind the songs and how that crosses over into our performance as actors and vocalists. At the end of the session, students will perform showcasing various pieces of Andrew Lloyd Webber.    The music choices in class will be heavily influenced by student preference (and teacher imput), but can include songs from Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat, Lover Never Dies, Sunset Boulevard, School of Rock, Cats, Evita, Starlight Express or other writings by ALW.
