Description

Everyone loves watching dancers leap to unbelievable heights and execute turns that would make any non-dancer dizzy. But what makes the great dancers stand out? The answer is within their technique. In this class we will spend time dissecting our turn-out, posture, alignment, and other key elements to great technique. Each class will consist of a warm-up, across the floor sequences, different drills focusing on that week’s technique, and a combination to tie it all together. This class will challenge each student on an personal level, as well as allowing them individual feedback within a group environment.
Prerequisite: *Previous dance experience is required for this class.*

Teacher:

Brianne Cook

Brianne is a Fredericksburg native and a CYT alumni. She joined the CYT family at the age of 12 and participated in over 10 productions. After being cast as a featured dancer multiple times in a row, she fell in love with the art of dance. Since then she has trained with multiple studios throughout the Fredericksburg area, with Broadway Dance Alliance in New York City, and with the Rockettes. Shortly after graduation, Brianne worked closely with Riverside Center for the Performing Arts as both a performer and a choreographer. Brianne has since stepped away from the world of performing to focus on her career and earning a degree in psychology, but still makes it a priority to be involved with the arts in any way she can. She is humbled to be back where it all began and hopes to instill the love of the arts in her students.
