Class Description

Come explore what it’s like to be in a CYT musical while learning the fundamentals of music, movement, and storytelling and building confidence for the stage! Young actors will receive an introduction to: theater terms and stage directions, basic choreography, memorized lines, and music. The class will practice these skills by participating in high energy games and activities in a positive and encouraging environment! All activities will include some of our favorite Disney or Broadway characters and songs. At the end of the class series students will perform a magical and adorable musical showcase for friends and families!   Whether they are preparing for their first audition, or this is their very first exposure to theatre, my goal is that students grow in confidence in each area (dance, acting, music) and find the JOY of the stage throughout this class!

Class goals:
-Teach students fundamental theatre skills necessary to move onto 8+ classes
-Introduce what the audition experience is like for main stage shows
-Teach students beginning music skills with percussion instruments and singing
-Strategically choose music and themes that fit the *personalities* of the kids!
