By participating in this acting class, students will be able to demonstrate their ability to create a compelling storyline within a song. Using games and acting techniques, we will discover how to access emotional expression through movement making characters more fascinating and how to use our strengths to produce believable performances. Together, let's create something amazing, inspiring, and unique through music!

Anna Hansen

My acting career began in elementary school and continued through college, performing, stage managing, and directing whenever possible. My first involvement with CYT was in 2006 when I taught theatre classes and worked backstage. I then moved to Harrisonburg to continue my theatre studies at Blue Ridge Community College. There, I stage-managed and performed in shows such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, DuPont Mississippi, and Barefoot in the Park. Since college, I have directed Christmas plays at my church and developed several theatre summer camps. In 2014 I studied acting and modeling with Actors, Models, and Talent for Christ (AMTC) in New York, taking classes from acting coaches and casting directors. As a result of that incredible experience, I found a family with Kingdom Bound Productions, performing on stage and filming television pilots. After relocating to Spotsylvania in 2017, I returned to CYT to teach classes, stage-manage, and direct.
