Come join Matilda and her classmates for a crazy time at school. If you are between the ages of 8-14 and want to improve in acting, singing and dancing then this is the class for you!! You will learn about the many different things it takes to put on a good show like stage presence, working with a group of people to tell the story to your audience, and how to act, sing and dance all at the same time. There will be auditions for those students who wish to audition for the lead roles. Those students who want to be a part of the ensemble do not need to audition. The class will also have two performances on stage. The performances for Matilda will be Feb. 11th and 12th, both at 7pm, with two tech nights on Wednesday, February 9th, and Thursday, February 10th.
*Auditions will be held on Tuesday, November 16th at our new CYT building, 5024 Spotsylvania Parkway, Fredericksburg.*
Pam King has been greatly involved in music since childhood, from playing violin to singing on stage and at church. Pam holds a bachelors degree in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University and a master of Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She and her husband Mckenneth toured throughout the country for thirteen years giving concerts in churches, retreats and conference centers. Pam and her husband have been directors of many shows both in the Community Theater as well as church. Pam currently has her own private voice studio where she teaches forty students a week. Since coming off the road Pam and her husband have had a dream of starting a family oriented Christian based arts school and theater company. She is thrilled to have CYT in the Fredericksburg area and looks forward to many more productions. It is so much fun to watch the kids grow in their abilities and their confidence. She feels blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a great artistic team and awesome group of kids!! Pam served as CYT Fredericksburg's Artistic Director from 2010-2015, and now serves as our Director of Music.
Brianne is a Fredericksburg native and a CYT alumni. She joined the CYT family at the age of 12 and participated in over 10 productions. After being cast as a featured dancer multiple times in a row, she fell in love with the art of dance. Since then she has trained with multiple studios throughout the Fredericksburg area, with Broadway Dance Alliance in New York City, and with the Rockettes. Shortly after graduation, Brianne worked closely with Riverside Center for the Performing Arts as both a performer and a choreographer. Brianne has since stepped away from the world of performing to focus on her career and earning a degree in psychology, but still makes it a priority to be involved with the arts in any way she can. She is humbled to be back where it all began and hopes to instill the love of the arts in her students.
