Class Description

One of the best aspects of a musical theater dance number is the iconic kick line at the end! Did you know mastering a kick line has its own technique? Most of the technique revolves around individual flexibility and strength, but it also requires being in tune with the other dancers on the line with you. The first half of class time in Mastering the Kick Line will be dedicated to the techniques required in performing a successful kick line. We will work on individual flexibility and strength, in addition to group concepts like phasing (you’ll learn what that word means in class). During the second half of class, students will learn fun kick lines each week that will get harder as we go. By the end of our 9-week session, students will have learned a dance with the ultimate kick line to show off to their friends and family.

*Please note:
~There will be NO class on Tuesday, January 28th, due to a scheduling conflict with the venue. (This is different than the other class locations, who will have class that week.) Class time has been extended 15 minutes each week to make up for the lost class.
~The showcase date for this class, will be held on Wednesday, February 12th, most likely at FA.*
