Class Description

This improv crash course will teach the foundations of improvisational acting through scene work, fun games, and working towards more advanced improv technique. There are many misconceptions about improv and this class is here to debunk the myths that you have to be the funniest person in the room to do improv, that improv is always random and crazy, that improv has no rules or structure, or that it isn’t useful in other areas of theatre. Improv is a beautiful and expressive art form that enhances many useful skills inside and outside the world of theatre, such as active listening skills, public speaking, creativity, adaptability, trust, and self-confidence. Aside from the fact that this class will help students to strengthen their craft, it will also be jam-packed with fun and laughter every single night. Join us in this high energy class lead by two seasoned improvisers who want to share the magic of improv with CYT students!

Amanda Serpas

Amanda is a wife to her wonderful husband, Raul and mommy to Emilio and Ari. Amanda also co-owns a makeup artistry company, loves pugs and traveling to new places.

Hannah Taraschke
