Have you ever been watching a CYT show and wondered to yourself where all those terrific props have come from? I mean, WOW! Aren’t they simply amazing? Well, in the class From Ordinary to Extraordinary, you will not only learn the process of how to make all the director’s props dreams come true, but you will roll up your sleeves and get downright messy making them. That’s right, I said messy. We will transform ordinary items into extraordinary props that will blow your parents’ minds. My teaching style is organized chaos, so things could get a little wild. During this session, we will produce and run props for the Finding Neverland showcase.
My name is Shari Barber. I am fifty-one, have four children and have lived in Fredericksburg for twenty-four years. I have been involved with CYT since Spring of 2014 and have served in many areas including: sets, sets dressing, costumes, concessions and box office. PROPS, on the other hand, is my true love and has been my main focus. I have served as props chair for five CYT productions and props master at Fredericksburg Academy for two shows. I have assisted in the STEM to Stage class along side Adam Sipp and been the lead teacher of From Ordinary to Extraordinary once. I really love being creative and bringing out the creative side of my students.
