Do you get a pit in your stomach when you walk into a dance audition? Do you struggle to pick up all the choreography in the short amount of time? Then this is the class for you. CYT has offered dance audition prep classes before, but never like this. This class will be 100% based off technique because dance is all about the technique. Ballet technique is the foundation of all dance. Therefore, the first half of class each week will be dedicated to learning and perfecting ballet technique. The second half of class is where you get to put what you learned to test. Each week the class instructor will spend the second half of class teaching choreography. (students in the class will learn a new combination every week). In a dance audition, choreographers are looking at a dancers technique and how quickly the routine is picked up. The structure of this class will allow students to work on both areas simultaneously ensuring they grow and become more comfortable with the dance audition process.
