Class Description

Are you a young student looking for a challenge? Are you between ages 8-12, but looking for a more advanced class to learn more than just theater basics? Then this is the class for you! Beyond Basics will dive into advanced scene work, detailed character work, and many higher level acting techniques than this age group is usually exposed to. You can look forward to a high energy class with lots of opportunity for creativity and confidence building. The skills learned in this class can be used for auditions, callbacks, plays, musicals, school presentations, all kinds of storytelling, and more!


Hannah Taraschke

Hannah Taraschke is a theatre director and performer, specializing in musical theatre and improvisational acting. Hannah has been working for CYT Fredericksburg since 2013 as a camp counselor, teacher, improv coach, stage manager (“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “High School Musical”), and Director (“Mulan Jr.”, and “Frozen Jr.”). She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Franciscan University. Hannah has studied improv since the age of 12 and has competed nationally, going on to coach competitive improv teams. During her time at university, Hannah directed and choreographed “She Loves Me”, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, and “Seussical” and wrote her Senior Thesis on Drama Therapy for children. Hannah is CYT’s biggest fan and had the opportunity to work alongside the founders of CYT for the past 2 years at CYT Headquarters in San Diego at the annual CYT EXPO. Hannah has a huge heart for children and plans to pursue a career in drama therapy. She plans to continue directing and working with children all while striving to share the love of Christ in every aspect of her life and career.
