Class Description

Welcome to this class for students who have mastered the basic and intermediate levels of improv and made their way into this audition-only advanced improv class. This class will dive deeper into the world of improv and elevate all the foundational skills the students have under their belt. Students can expect to work with specific partners more consistently to learn partner dynamics and learn how to work as a team, highlighting each other’s strengths for a well rounded group performance.

*Please Note: Enrollment in this class is only for those students cast on the CYT Fredericksburg Improv Team.*
Prerequisite: Must have previously taken an improv class with these instructors, auditioned for and been cast in this class which will travel to San Diego as part of the CYT Fredericksburg team for EXPO.


Amanda Serpas

Amanda is the Worship Pastor at River Of Life Worship Center where she has been serving in worship ministry since 2009. Amanda studied theater and acted professionally in Chicago before transitioning to ministry. Amanda has been involved with CYT for several years and has taught a variety of classes and camps. She feels incredibly blessed to use her theater experience to pour into the next generation. Amanda’s favorite form of acting is improv and she’s excited to teach this class And watch these students grow as actors and stretch themselves in a new way. Amanda is a wife to her wonderful husband, Raul and mommy to Emilio and Ari. Amanda also co-owns a makeup artistry company, loves pugs and traveling to new places.


Hannah Taraschke

Hannah Taraschke is a theatre director and performer, specializing in musical theatre and improvisational acting. Hannah has been working for CYT Fredericksburg since 2013 as a camp counselor, teacher, improv coach, stage manager (“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “High School Musical”), and Director (“Mulan Jr.”). She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Franciscan University. Hannah has studied improv since the age of 12 and has competed nationally, going on to coach competitive improv teams. During her time at university, Hannah directed and choreographed “She Loves Me”, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, and “Seussical” and wrote her Senior Thesis on Drama Therapy for children. Hannah is CYT’s biggest fan and had the opportunity to work alongside the founders of CYT for the past 2 years at CYT Headquarters in San Diego at the annual CYT EXPO. Hannah has a huge heart for children and plans to pursue a career in drama therapy. Currently Hannah works as a Registered Behavior Technician providing services for children on the Autism spectrum. She plans to continue directing and working with children all while striving to share the love of Christ in every aspect of her life and career.
