Class Description

Ever wanted to try your hand at the costume committee, or just wanted to learn some basics about sewing for personal use? Whether you are a beginner or you are looking to advance your skills, this is the class for you! Each student will be working on projects based on their skill level with instruction, tips, and support along the way. Topics covered will include using and trouble shooting your sewing machine, reading a pattern, assembling and fitting garments.

Things you will need before the first week of class:
Working sewing machine, fabric scissors, straight pins, and a great attitude!

Melissa Reinhardt

Melissa is so excited to be a part of the CYT family! She and her husband Chris have 2 fantastic kids, Lucas and Abby. She got involved with CYT when her daughter Abby started in 2014. She has been a part of the costume committee for several shows and is looking forward to passing her sewing skills on to her students. She has had a passion for sewing and creating since she was a teen. Melissa is a middle and high school teacher at Fredericksburg Christian School and is excited about combining her passion for students and sewing. Outside of teaching, Melissa is an active part of her church worship team and desires to serve the Lord in all aspects of her life. She loves music, dance, and theater and can't wait to work with your kids!
